Your advice is good, however, if you have a long torso it’s actually best to wear a tankini. A two piece makes the torso appear even longer. Though, most pageants don’t have an option as to bikini type. Also, black and darker colors are TOO dark on her light skin. She’d be better in a medium green color. You don’t want to close to skin tone as you mentioned but you also don’t want to go too dark for your skin tone either.
