    @OMG2991

No, it’s way worse than being overweight. What I’m saying is that compared to obesity it’s irrelevant.

I don’t think you quite understand.

If you never had an …
If you never had an eating disorder than you can’t compare it to a in space. You have no clue what it is like. Being Anorexic or Belimic is just as bad as being over weight.

    well eating ot much …
well eating ot much and not eating enough r BOTH considered eating disorders . both r extremely important cuases and how about this; when u stop eating, ur body doesnt get the nutrients it needs and U DIE! so , people die from being underweight as well. im not saying that being overweight isnt a big problem, its just the being underweight is just as bad.

  6. MussyPagnet says:

    No, the point is …
No, the point is that an enormous amount of americans DIE EVERY YEAR from being too overweight.

People need to get the message that being obese is not ok. It’s killing every day.

Eating disorders are a in space by comparison, so let’s have a little perspective here.

so wat ur tring to …
so wat ur tring to say is ud rather see a 13 year old girl forcing herself to throw up after eating a meal than eating a peice of candy? thats sick, I mean they r both issues that should be taken care of , but u dont need to say that being underweight is less of a proble than over. theyre abput equal!!!!

Wow this video is so necessary today. Thank to findyourtruebeauty for posting it.

I remember when I was about 12 years old…I was really popular etc. in school…but I remember looking in a full length mirror and telling myself my hips weren’t big enough. My body wasn’t sexy enough. I remember thinking “I’d better get a good job and be a lawyer, so I can get surgery later” I am not kidding. I was a popular, well-adjusted girl. I had not even hit puberty.

I just realized how sick that was.

    i remember being 4 …
i remember being 4 years old n not wanting to where my gymnasticts uniform becase i was afraid that i looked fat, now i relize that at that age thinking about that is just sad and the worst thing about it is that if i have kids they will most likely suffer from the same thoughts as me, and belive that they will have to starve for perfection as i do

    Well MussyPagnet, …
Well MussyPagnet, eating disorders, though commonly associated with anorexia and bulimia, could be anything. Obesity is an eating disorder. Eating disorders are when you are not eating correctly. Like me, the fact that, though I am skinny, I eat junk food to no end, is an eating disorder. See where Im coming from?

    Yeah, and if …
Yeah, and if celebrities do lose the weight fast, they have their own personal trainers and nutritionists every step of the way, In fact, they have help like that all the time! The media upsets me so much, but there’s an audience for it so…

  13. dynastychick3 says:

    They are both …
They are both problems that need to be addressed? Why either/or? It doesn’t change the fact that ED’s are extremely serious and the awareness needs to get out there more.

The athlete one is so true, I used to be a gymnast before I was hospitalized for annorexia, and then I quit becuase it got too expensive and I’m healthier now, although wayyy fatter which is but at least I have a more healthy relationship with food.

  15. MussyPagnet says:

    People are dying in …
People are dying in vulgarly large numbers in America from obesity. 1 out of every 100 people will at some stage develop an eating disorder.

You tell me which is the bigger problem.

Wow that hit the spot for me. I am 4′11 I was 130 naturally but was still told I was over weight but I am now overweight by 30 pounds but factor in that I had two kids and they were a year and a half apart. The media makes it look like all the pregnant actresses lost weight over night but in real life it takes time. At this point I am happy with who I am and am losing the weight for my own health, the media can take their image at shove it up there a**!!

its true, our bodies are not ours, they belong to God. and when we do things to ourselves like cutting or having an ed we are disrespecting God.

    I loved this video …
I loved this video =) our bodies are a temple of God and hurting our bodies is hurting God and telling God what He made was a mistake.. God doesn;t make mistakes. We are all created in His image and are made for His perfect plan =)

  24. betrueblood22 says:

    Well if you don’t …
Well if you don’t believe in God then of course you’re not going to care about “honoring Him” with your body, but I believe in God, and I believe He created me and I believe I am “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Ps. 139:14). Therefore, God has everything to do with health and body image: I need to take care of the body that God gave me. You can go ahead and disagree with me, but I’m just putting that out there.
