As people look at purchasing a computer, many want their computer to do specific things well. They might wish to play games, watch films, store images, or just search the Internet. A nice beginning computer system is the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC. HP offers plenty of hard-drive space, and RAM, but there is no graphic cards. The HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is a budget computer so this is not for hardcore gamers. The purpose of the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is to be a nice all-around computer for a great price instead of a power computer for the advanced gamer.

This computer from HP is priced at just $600 but comes with AMDs 2.9GHz Phenom ll 840T quad-core CPU, 6GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. Also, it comes with the ATI Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics, a DVD burner and 802.11n wireless card.

The tower chassis is a timeless black design with glossy front panel. An extra bay is situated under the DVD burner, for expansion when you want to add a Blu-ray player. It is approximately 7 inches in width, with the power button located at the top, and not too extraordinary in looks. In addition, this HP computer is packaged with a basic keyboard and optical mouse. A lot of newer PCs nowadays come packed with all kinds of extra software, but this HP PC comes with surprisingly little. It is bundled with several try-before-you-buy software and HPs excellent MediaSmart video and music suite.

There are several useful ports found on the front, with a multi-format card reader bay being one of them. You will also find two USB 2.0 ports, plus the microphone and headphone jacks. Since the HP Pavilion p6720f Desktop PC is a budget PC, and not for multimedia, a couple of things are missing. The back of the PC has an ethernet port, four USB 2.0 ports, one DVI-out, one VGA-out, and an S/PDIF-out. Also, 7.1 surround sound support is included. As your computing needs grow, this HP computer can be restricting. As with other budget PCs, the internals look to be a jumbled mess, with wires bunched in the middle of the computer. Theres not a great deal you can do if you wish to load it up with advanced PC cards. There is a slot to add a video card.

If you are interested in doing some intense gaming, the HP Pavilion p6720f may not be the most suitable computer for you. The integrated graphics chip was not made to handle advanced graphics. More casual computer games are more suited to these low-end machines. If you need a PC for high end games, then something like the Micro Express MicroFlex 25B is suitable for that but it will cost you a few hundred dollars more. No Matter its shortcomings in graphics, the Pavilion p6720f is a terrific deal, with a good processor, huge hard drive and lots of RAM for a low price. This computer surely met my daily computing needs. It was simple to use, and plenty fast, and the price was something I can afford.
